Bought the Antero 0-degree bag to pair with my hammock. I recently used it during a 4 day, 3 night journey where temperatures were between 9 & 21 degrees at night. I didn't have any issues staying warm. I slept in my hammock, without a sleeping pad and while only in my briefs (wanted to test this bag). I did use an under-quilt the first night, as the winds were howling at 45 mph. but the remaining nights I only used the sleeping bag. Very happy with my purchase and the quality and comfort of this bag. Plenty of room inside to move around and even had pockets to tuck valuables, snacks, water or phone. This bag works well enough by itself, but when paired with an under quilt and/or a winter sleeping pad when the weather is extra brutal, this combo would be OP.

Hands down the best sleeping bag I’ve owned. Keeps me toasty warm when winter camping whether used with or without my hammock. In fact I own 4 of these bags. One for me and each of my children.

Bought this, very excited that someone even made anything like this. Bought it in October (too cold for use where I live), but everything looked good. Set it up on the shelf for the upcoming season that I could use it. Pulled it off the shelf early, thinking I could utilize it with a hammock quilt I purchased. Set it up and froze my butt off! Literally, the under side of the bag has near ZERO insulation. Attempting to move the fill around to spread it out, I was confused why I couldn't get it spread. Using a light to back-light the area, I discovered the issue... The baffles in where your butt goes, had nothing in them. And they were cut off (as far as I could tell with the back-light) from other baffles that I could have spread it out with.
It was brand new. Never used (except for the few minutes spent that night out in the cold. Because of how I chose to stick it on the shelf for a few months rather than do a thorough inspection, I knew I wouldn't be able to utilize their return policy. But I was confident that this was a manufacturing issue.
But to my utter and complete surprise, they denied it. Don't do it! They do't care about what is right or wrong and will just take your money.

It only got down to 32 degrees Fahrenheit the last two nights. I paired it with an exped dura 8R and it was still chilly everywhere except below me. I’ve taken it to 9 degrees Fahrenheit with another bag inside and been cozy warm. Disappointed, but still usable as a 2nd layer.

I received my Antero 0 degree on Wednesday evening and headed out to the Shenandoah River State Park Thursday morning to try it out. Temps were in the high twenties and it got windy at night. I was comfortable in just a base layer and could achieve a slight diagonal lie. As an experiment, I attached a quilt under my hammock. I couldn't get much of a diagonal but who cares ... it was toasty in there. Super comfortable. I actually opened the bag a little to cool off. There was a bit of a gap at the head and foot openings but that was easily solved. I stuffed a pair of wool socks by my head and hung a rolled blanket into the foot of the bag. The anti snag zipper on things bag makes a big difference. I was able to climb in and zip up very quickly. This was just test run but I'm convinced - this bag is essential for cold weather hammock camping. Well done!

Xtra long, xtra wide and a top zipper, what’s not to like!?! Used it under the stars with an insulated pad with an r-value of 7.8 in 38 degrees farenheit and kept warm and cozy. Still waiting for subzero temps to really test its claims.

I have had a Crestone for about two years now and have used it for two hunting seasons and have at least 40 nights in it. I love it. I bought this version (Antero) for my daughter who is at University in mountain town. She has always loved the outdoors and spending time in her hammock. This seemed perfect. I had to get her one for Christmas! Hyke and Byke is a great company and I love their products and commitment in supporting other aspiring businesses. Their customer service and responsiveness is top-notch, and I have never had one of their products fail me.

Was just what it said it would be. Great company! Order came quickly

I wasn't sure how the bag would feel around my double hammock, but it was super spacious! I got the long just to be sure, and am glad I did. It was toasty all the way down to -6F but did wish I had packed an extra layer when it got down to -9F.
2 suggestions to possible improvement:
1. Include a flap where the hammock passes through to stop the draft, especially on larger hammocks - to achieve what stuffing a beanie or shirt into the ends does.
2. Perhaps have the cowl slightly deeper (face opening lower down the bag) as it is quiet difficult to get up so high in the hammock in order to have one's face at the opening (I did at least).
I would recommend this bag even if you aren't hammock camping, purely for the extra width.

Brought it out to test its warmth in 0 degree weather and I was not cold at all! I love how it zips in the center and cinches on your face!

I was super excited to use my 0 degree hammock compatible bag out in the Fall Aspens of Colorado on my hunt this season. The hammock definitely did not disappoint! I slept inside a liner bag in my hammock and I was toasty all night on 25-32 degree nights, any less than that and I'm not sure on what the comfort level might be, but I was so excited to finally actually be warm for the fist time in the woods in my hammock! I love hammock camping so this is my new favorite piece of gear. I still recommend either wearing warmth or keeping it in the bag with you so that you can get into it before unzipping into the cold morning but it is a very spacious bag that I am confident will fit you and some clothes to change into quite easily. I absolutely recommend this sleeping bag for anyone who likes hammock camping in the woods. The price, quality, and performance is unmatched!

Worked great really roomy

I haven't gotten to use it camping yet, it started getting hot as soon as I got it. The material is super soft. And the down is soft and fluffy. I purchased the large bag because I'm 6'2" 250. There is plenty of extra room. Best sleeping bag around for price / warmth/ weight ratio.
Michael S.
I have the 0° bag with the long option. I am 6'2" and 200 lbs. The Temps got down to 33° at night on my campout. It was bitterly cold away from the camp fire.
Since this bag has a comfort rating of 30° I wanted to test it and only slept in lightweight thermals, wool socks, and a beanie. It was rough taking off all my layers before crawling into my hammock, I got real cold real quick. It took 30 - 60 minutes for the bag to warm up. My feet never warmed up and were uncomfortably cold all night. On night 2 I grabbed my sweater, rolled it into a ball, and shoved it down to my feet to add insulation. It provided marginal relief. Since I was testing the limits of the bag, I didn't want to take extra steps for warmth. Overall I slept really well and stayed acceptably warm. On my next trip when I am less concerned with testing the bag I will have a hot water bottle at my feet. I will add, I have never succeeded in having warm feet while winter camping without a water bottle helping. It was a BIG ask of the bag.
At 6'2" 200 lbs I was surprised how much room there was to move around. I cannot sleep in a traditional mummy bag due to them being so restrictive. I was able to sleep and a diagonal (although slight), make a figure 4 with my legs to ease tension on my back, roll to my side and back when I desired, and still feel space between my hammock and the sleeping bag underneath me. I was impressed.
A couple notes:
1. I do not have a fancy hammock, I picked mine up from Costco.
2. It was not windy; a bitter breeze may affect how warm you stay.
3. The pull cords at the head and foot will slide open while you're sleeping. I recommend pulling them tight then tying a slip knot to keep them from opening. Do this before getting into the hammock.
4. As stated above, I usually have a Nalgene water bottle. I put boiling water in it, slide it in a wool sock and keep it at my feet for warmth. Next trip I plan to cinch the sock into the foot penetration to keep the water bottle at my feet. I think this will work and significantly increase the warmth of the foot box.
5. The compression sack is not water proof. I will be getting a 20L waterproof compression bag to keep my bag dry during transportation.
Overall it is everything I expected it to be and in a price point that worked in my budget.

The quality is excellent, waited a long time before choosing this one. Love it!!

Really appreciate and love the design of this bag with an under quilt and warm sleeping bag all in one have you used on multiple occasions down to approximately 0° c overnight relatively comfortable in a hammock however a little bit difficult to keep it buttoned up tight enough to not have air exchange through the bag. It would have been a good idea to have little sacks where the hammock comes in and out to plug off the holes as well as a little extra flap for tucking around your neck area however all being said still the best option that I have seen by far so far hopefully hiking bike can make the few final improvements to make it an even better bagel for lower temps in the very near future

Went to Calloway Peak at Grandfather's Mountain North Carolina over the weekend. Wind chill was negative 1. I was VERY comfortable with only a thin base layer and thin socks. Absolutely satisfied with this bag and the 2 guys with me were very impressed as well when they saw the candy bar that I wanted to "keep warm" in my bag with me had literally melted during the night! Thanks for a great product.

I have owned a lot of different sleeping bags of different designs and temp ratings.
I even bought a Wiggy’s Antarctic-80 degree F bag, it’s off the charts, but too heavy to back pack with.
So I bought a Hyke&Byke hammock compatible 0 degree F sleeping bag, blue exterior and green inside/
This thing I have slept in, and I took it camping into the Shawnee national forest in State a week, it poured heavy continually the almost the whole time I was there.
This sleeping bag is better than all of my others combined, it’s easy to use extremely comfortable and everything about it scores 100% in every category!

It’s the middle of winter am using on. My boat , is an upgrade .,Thanks to you and as a live aboard I’m snug as a bug in a Baltimore rug . .

The hammock sleeping bag has been a great addition to our setup. Not having to back in an over quilt and under quilt has allowed us to pack lighter and have less items. Also it is comfortable and we could regulate out temperature easily throughout the night.

Little update. Did a 9 degree F night last night. I used a 3 season 3 person tent so lots of space inside and lots of moving cold air!!!! I wore a base layer and a light mid top and bottom, wool socks, used a hot Nalgene bottle at my feet and 2 adhesive body warmers on my torso... I woke up HOT!!!! Stripped off the mid layer and body warmers and toasty warm all night!!
THIS THING IS A BEAST!!!!!!

I bought it as a gift for my son at his request and he loves it, he lives 30miles from Canadian border and loves to hunt and fish so I know it will be put to good use.

I'm 6'2" and 260 pounds with wide shoulders. I ordered the long size and went hammock compatible for the extra width and length, boy did this bag deliver! I have ample space in this bag. The quality far exceeds the price as well. I ordered the bag on a Thursday early afternoon and it came by post on Monday! Keep in mind this was with Saturday being a holiday and no mail. Don't waste your hard earned dollars buying cheap sleeping bags hoping to get by. This bag will definitely save you money and deliver a quality sleeping bag as well as save room from storing all those bags you hoped would be warm enough!!!!
David S H.
I really like the concept and mine is super warm. I think the inclusion of some sort of hook and loop strapping to help hold the ends in place would be an awesome upgrade! But otherwise excellent experience from purchase to product. Good enough I went back and bought a the normal 0degree bag too

5 stars for initial quality. Perhaps I'll be able to leave a longevity/durability review a yr or so down the road. But I purchased it on Cyber Monday, Nov 2021, and used it Dec 10th 2021. My buddy and I camped out on top of a ridge in the smokies, and although the low was supposed to be 31°F, it got down to 23°F, and it started around 50°F. We were in a 4 seasons tent and initially wore the same amount of coverage; upper & lower base layer, long sleeve shirt, pajama pants, a beanie, and thick socks. My buddy also had a fleece liner that went into his 40°F (comfort rated) bag that said it increased the temp rating by 25°. We both slept on pads with 4 ratings. By the time the sun came out, I had removed my beanie and socks. My buddy had added one of my fleece jackets on the inside of his bag around his legs, my coat around his feet on the outside, and an additional shirt. I stayed comfortable throughout the night. The ratio for the features/quality/rating/price is one of the best that I've come across. Looking forward to using this bag for years to come.

Good buy.
Sceptical at first, but now my wife and kids all have hyke and byke sleeping bags. Good quality and very warm.

I love my antero 0 degree bag! It works perfectly with my hammock. It is comfortable and warm. At this point it is the only bag I want to use because of the weight to warmth ratio and it’s versatility. On top of that, I love the colors, it flat out looks awesome.
Kyle W.
I used my Antero Zero degree bag with my coalatree 1 person hammock and it was amazing. The set up was easy, the functionality of all the components of the sleeping bag are spectacular, the materials are good quality, and it was warm enough that I had to unzip part way! Also, I have the blue and green and it looks cool.
Steven R.
So far so good, I am 5' 8" and 250 lbs. I got the antero long for the wider body and it worked out perfectly. I'll check back in when it gets colder out.
Maxine A.
These are the warmest most comfortable sleeping bags I’ve ever used. Love the hammock feature! Easily fits through hammock for relaxing warm rest.
Great for kids too! I purchased for the entire family. The price is very reasonable and I love that the company supports others.
We also bought cotton storage bags to keep them nice while not in use.
Zac B.
Loved it!! Used it on a hike and worked so well I couldn’t keep it zipped up because it was so warm
Charles (Chuck) M.
I have used the bag twice. It is comfortable and warm. Everything I expected. The quality appears very good...time will tell. Very satisfied and I would recommend this sleeping bag .

12° overnight and slept super toasty. Couldn’t be happier!

I bought it for my son, and he absolutely loves it. He says it is quite toasty.

I carried this bag in my pack for 12.6 miles on the AT in early December. It rained the last 2 hours. We camped in a shelter and set up a tent in the shelter. There were 3 humans and 1 dog in the tent. The temperature was in the mid 30's. I used a 3.9 thermarest pad as well. I also used 4 handwarmers in the bag. The sleeping bag had plenty of room. I was surprised how cool it felt. I think it was because the material is smooth and there is room. I used my jacket as a blanket inside for more warmth. I'm female, 65, 5'4', 150 lbs. I'm looking forward to using it with a hammock in warmer weather.

Too Dang Hot
I bought the 0 degree Antero and slept in it on a 34F night. I ended up shirtless for a while until my hammock was quite wet with sweat. My wife used it on a warmer night and loved it. IT's hers now and I have ordered myself the 15 degree version. I was a little concerned with the method to hold the bag in place around the hammock, but it works well with no slipping. As for the smell that I have read about in other reviews, the first night in it I did notice a slight odor. However, it came out of the box and the stuff sack and went straight on my hammock a few hours before I got in it. After letting it air out for a week, there seems to no longer be any odor.
Rob W
I love it
I haven’t gotten to use this in real cold weather yet, but so far I love this bag. It doesn’t cover the entire hammock on real long hammocks, but it stays closed up tight in the holes on the enda. I’ve been completely warm with it mostly open... 50’s and 60’s degree weather. I’m ready to try it in colder weather. It cradles the hammock and me perfectly and allows you to move and change positions while sleeping and it stays in place. I think it’ll work great on the ground as well

Awesome product, amazing find!
I took a solo trip to the Grand Canyon this past October and was met with some unexpectedly cold weather (single digits at night). It was my first time attempting to hammock camp in temperatures that cold and I was genuinely not prepared for it. I had packed for 60 degree weather but the warmest it got the entire trip was 34 degrees. I do not exaggerate when I say this sleeping bag SAVED THE TRIP!! I may have had to wear my pajamas for 4 days straight (aka the only long sleeve shirt and warmest pair of pants I brought) but I was warm and cozy every night because of the quality of this bag. The design is awesome and traps your body heat in while still allowing for plenty of room to move around. The price is seriously unbeatable and the customer service from Hyke and Byke is amazing!
I have now bought two products from them and have been so impressed with the quality and attention to detail. I will be back for more! Keep up the good work guys:)

Warmest you’ll ever be in a hammock
I’ve tried multiple underquilts and top quilts. I’ve tried 9 different hammocks. I finally feel like I’ve found the right gear for cold weather hammock camping. My last trip got down to 17 degrees and I stayed toasty warm. I slept in my underwear and woke up hot. In the morning I didn’t want to get up because I was so warm and toasty. My friends were all up early every morning because they were cold all night. Sucks to be them!
If you love hammock camping and you want to do it in the cold, this is as good as it gets and you can’t beat the price.
Pro tip: throw a few hand warmers in the bottom on a cold night. You will be warmer than you thought possible.

Still a great product but not all goose down.
My most recent Hyke and Byke purchase was the Antero 0°F hammock bag. I already had an Antero 15°F and wanted to hang out in a little colder weather. But when comparing the Antero 0°F to my older Eolus 0°F from a few years ago I noticed the down bags are starting to gain some weight. Specifically, my old Eolus weighs 2.88 lb in the stuff sack. The current model Eolus lists at 3.20 lb on the website. I'm assuming this is from the addition of the Allied LofTech base insulation to the goose down.
When I shook out the new Antero 0°F bag I was expecting the same, impressive loft as my older Eolus 0°F -- Seriously, that thing looks like it is going to bust at the seams. But I was a little disappointed that the 0°F Antero didn't fill out much more than the 15°F Antero.
I still think this is the most bang for the buck bag and will probably be glad for the additional water resistance the synthetic insulation offers as I take out my new 0°F Antero for a cold, wet trip this weekend.
I think the addition of (or switch to) shock cord for the drawstrings would be an improvement to keep the bag from dropping to the center of the hammock when unoccupied and make it easier to enter.
Happy hiking!

Great idea but...
The idea is great but there are a fe issues. The video shows a hammock almost horizontally to the ground. A hammock should be hung at 30 degrees. My hammock is 11ft long and if hung correctly obviously much longer than the sleeping bag. The cinch straps at each end won’t hold the sleeping bag in place and it will sink to the ground when you get up. I ended up stealing a couple of elastic hair ties from my wife and extended the strings so that I can attach them to the ends of my hammock. Aside from this design flaw the sleeping bag is great and plenty warm. I do run it through the dryer with no heat once in a while to fluff it up. This is my second sleeping bag from Hyke and Byke and I also have a two person tent. I highly recommend all of their products. They are economical, comfortable, lightweight and easy to carry in as little as a 50 liter backpack with gear for several days.

Not that good
The bag is missing alot of filling in the back so you're going to have the dreaded cold butt syndrome, they say that you can move the down to the back but you can't because the top and bottom (front and back) are seperated to keep the down loft on top (front) and the "Allied’s revolutionary LofTech Summit (whatever that is) on bottom (back) where down isn’t necessary" another thing that sucks is that your hammock has to be really tight so you don't compress what little insulation there is, if you try to use this bag the way you would normally hang your hammock then your butt completely compresses the fill and if you're hammock is really tight then it's impossible to lay on an angle and you will be stuck sleeping like a banana and end up hypertending your knees and that really sucks when you have miles to hike the next day. It seemed like a good idea but it's a total fail. Another thing that sucks about this bag is that the draw strings aren't shock cord, without shock cord everytime you move the draw strings loosen and it's a pain in the a$$ to keep getting up to retighten them over and over all night. Another thing is the bag should have something that covers the zipper pulls (like a velcro flap like the eolus 0 degree bag) because the zipper pulls are really annoying rubbing on your chin and neck all night and it would help keep the zipper from coming unzipped. I'm sure the good reviews are from people that have no idea how to properly hang and lay in a hammock.

My first down bag and first to fit in my backpack...
Recently purchased an Antero 0 degree hammock compatible bag & had the opportunity to use it last week. Although the group I climbed with were in lodges I couldn't resist hanging the evening before our ascent of South Elbert via Black Cloud Creek. I was at 9700' w/ high winds & an evening thunderstorm. The bag did not disappoint, I was toasty warm w/ temperatures in the upper 30's to lower 40's. The only time I was chilly was when nature called due to hydration. The combination under/over quilt for the hammock plus the ability to go to the ground if needed was exactly what I was looking for & the Antero bag performed exceptional. The following night I stayed in the cabin w/ my group & once again I can attest how warm the bag was, the heat from the gas fireplace went out in the middle of the night. The other's woke up chilled but I, once again, was toasty warm. Side note, I'm 6'6" and had more than enough room in the long I purchased. Great product & I will definitely recommend to others.

antero 0 degree sleeping bag
Field tested (hammock) 1/25/19 at 15 F camped out all night. The bag had to be partially unzipped to hot at 15F. I believe this bag will be comfortable down to 0 F or lower. I'm not sure about the durability of the 400T 20D nylon or I would have given 5 stars. Very light and packable.! Mike

Great Bag. Great Value.
Full disclosure, I have yet to fully test the temperature rating; however, I did try it out with my hammock in November when it got down to ~30 and actually had to leave it slightly unzipped because I was too toasty. Can’t wait to further test this bag and am excited to test its versatility on the ground as well. Stellar product!
